FAITH: accepting what you are told.....without question!
by Terry infaith: if we adopt it as a way of accepting what we are told.... would investigating what we are told be a lack of faith?.
when i was 20 years old i was instructed to refuse induction into the armed forces.
privately, i was instructed to not accept the legal alternative: alternate service (work in a hospital as a non-combatant conscientious objector.).

Why is it so hard for Ex-JWs to make that "final step" and give up Christianity?
by sabastious ini'm not sure if it's just denial on a lot of people's part, but the reason the jws doctrine is so wacky and controlling is because they are among the few religions that really try to follow the bible!.
the bible is the culprit here in actuality, but even after someone has "wizened up" to the misguided teachings of jehovah's witnesses they still hold the bible as inspired word of god.. why don't you believe that the governing body was chosen as the faithful and discreet slave in 1918?
because the only real evidence to that fact is that they say so.

Maybe this is rubbish, but without God in the picture I find it hard to imagine where everything came from as there would be no time or space for it to exist in?
With God in the picture. Christianity seems to answer for me why we are in the mess we are in and how God gets us out of it. Where as the reason I left the witnesses was I felt they weren't really Christian.

When I give a promise I mean it. This magazine was published by people who claimed to be "the faithfull and discreet slave" handing out the food at the proper time. Never mind about whether Santa Claus is real and how it is a lie. This magazine was building confidence in a falsehood about God's promise "Most importantly, this magazine builds confidence in the Creator's promise of a peaceful and secure New Order before the generation that saw the events of 1914 passes away" This wasn't true by the faithfull and discreet slave own admission. Does Jehovah mind? (1 Cor.15 14,15) I personally think he does mind.

I thought it was Monday. I thought of the going to the hall but I feel too guilty rejecting the emblems and too embarrassed to take them. I will no doubt buy a fine claret and crackers and partake myself.

Why would a woman want to look like that?
by TD ini was leafing through a diet and exercisie magazine my wife subscribes to and noticed (not for the first time) that the female fitness models don't look like women at all.
--they look like anorexic teenaged boys with long hair.. skinny to the point of emaciation is not fit.
i would be willing to bet that not one of these models could even run a 10k.

I have always preferred thin women with little or no breasts.
